By creating a Magnetic account, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. You must be 18 or older to use Magnetic.
Magnetic is a dating application that analyzes facial geometry to compute compatibility scores and automatically schedules 20-minute video dates between compatible users. There is no messaging feature. When two users express mutual interest, the app automatically finds a shared availability window and proposes a video date.
Magnetic does not guarantee any matches, dates, romantic outcomes, or relationship results. We are a scheduling and matchmaking service, not a guarantee of compatibility or success.
Each virtual date costs $9.99 per person, charged at the time you confirm the date. You and your match each pay your own share separately.
Full refund: You will receive a full refund if (a) you cancel at least 4 hours before the scheduled date, (b) your match cancels at any time, or (c) your match does not attend the scheduled date (no-show).
No refund: You will not receive a refund if (a) you cancel less than 4 hours before the scheduled date, (b) you do not attend the scheduled date, or (c) neither party attends (both no-show).
Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days. We do not charge any additional fees beyond the per-date price.
A "no-show" occurs when a confirmed user does not check in within 15 minutes after the scheduled start of their date. No-shows result in: (1) forfeiture of payment, (2) a reduction in your reliability score, and (3) escalating account suspensions for repeat offenses.
First no-show: reliability score reduced, warning issued.
Second consecutive no-show: 7-day account suspension.
Third consecutive no-show: 30-day account suspension.
Fourth or more consecutive no-show: 90-day suspension and manual review.
Reliability scores recover by +2 points for each successfully attended date.
You agree to: use your real photo, be honest about your age and identity, attend dates you confirm, treat other users with respect during video calls.
You agree not to: create fake profiles, use photos of other people, use the Service for commercial solicitation, record video calls without consent, harass or threaten other users, attempt to circumvent any platform features.
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund of any paid amounts.
By uploading a photo, you provide explicit consent for Magnetic to analyze your facial geometry as described in our Privacy Policy. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your facial data (Profile > Settings > Delete Biometric Data). Withdrawal of consent will remove you from the matching pool.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAGNETIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MAGNETIC IN THE 90 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Magnetic is not responsible for the conduct of users during or after video dates. Meeting in person following a Magnetic date is entirely at your own risk.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS in California, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court. YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
